The Jungle Book

Tracking the tiger and following its pugmarks takes us to central India where we visit the twin national park of Kanha and Bandhavgarh which have been immortalized by Rudyard Kipling’s classic “The Jungle Book”. Kanha National Park is located in the eastern part of the central Indian highland, was the inspiration behind the Jungle Book..The park is immensely rich in game, and the home to predators such as Tiger, Leopard, Wolf, Striped Hyena and the Indian Wild Dog. The lesser predators include the Indian Fox, Common Palm Civet, Small Indian Civet, Jackal, Common and Ruddy Mongoose.The bird count here is equally impressive-over 300 species.

Bandhavgarh National Park derives its name from a hill in the center of the park. The park boasts the highest density of tigers in the world. Naturally, anyone who is hoping catch a glimpse of the elusive predator always heads for this place. But that’s not all, there are over 250 bird species that can be found here.
The tour ends with a visit to Khajuraho a “World Heritage Site” famous for its temples with intricate erotic carvings.

Day 06 : Bandhavgarh
Morning and evening game viewing in the Bandhavgarh National Park. Overnight at jungle lodge.

Day 07 : Bandhavgarh to Khajuraho
Morning game viewing in the Bandhavgarh National Park. Late morning depart Bandhavgarh For Khajuraho (280 kms. / 6 hrs.). Arrive Khajuraho Check in at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 : Khajuraho to Delhi and Depart
Morning visit Western and Eastern group of temples to appreciate its exquisite erotic carvings-also visit newly excavated 10 century Chandela Temple. Fly Khajuraho/Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to international airport to board the flight for onward destination.
